Halloween In Virginia Beach includes Virginia Symphony and Roller Derby

Blue Moon Wicked 10K and Monster Mile

Run this wacky race in costume - or not...raise money for homeless families.  Fun time for all!   Saturday 10/30.  Race starts at 8:00 am at the VB Convention Center and finishes on the Boardwalk at 19th St.  Barclay Cottage B&B is only a short walk (run? jog?) away from both.

"ADULT" Halloween Party at Town Center

6-10 pm  party for big people with several bands, costume party, and Hallow-tini competition.   Dress-up, dress-down, come as you are (anyway can be pretty scary!)  Have a frightfully good time (cab or limo recommended) 

Military Aviation Museum Talk and Flight Demo

Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11:00 am, MGen Donald J Strait USAF (ret) WWII vet and Double Ace with 13.5 kills, will speak of his exploits followed immediately by a P-51 Flight Demo.   Come relive history with a true American Hero.   Watch the P-51 take-off, land, and perform in the air over the fields and forests of the Pungo section of Virginia Beach.

Rachmaninoff’s ghostly “Isle of the Dead,” Saint-Sans  "Danse Macabre" and Boito’s “Mefistofele” prologue!  Percussionist Colin Currie performs Jennifer Higdon's 2010 Grammy Award winning Percussion Concerto.  Higdon will be in the audience for both performances. (there's a rumor that Rachmaninoff will also be in attendance - - oooOOOooo)

Dominion Derby Girls Roller Derby Bout

Virginia Beach's own Roller Derby Girls face off against league rivals.  Be outlandish!  There will be a halftime costume contest, raffles and admission is by donation only.

NIGHTMARE MANSION Haunted Special

Prepare to be scared!  Friday 10/29 6:00 - 11:00 pm
       Saturday and Sunday 10/30-31 2:00 - 12:00 Midnight

Not recommended for those with weak hearts!  Not recommended just before bed!  Easy walk to - and flee back to Barclay Cottage!

Concert

Come to Virginia Beach Friday Night 10/15 for the John Prine concert at Town Center. 

Shop 'til you drop

If you can't make the concert, are you looking for deals on all sorts of "stuff"  Are you a rockhound, gem or fossil collector? Head for the Virginia Beach Convention Center where there'll be two shows this weeekend -  The Merchandise Liquidation Sale and the Treasures of the Earth Gem and Jewelry Show. 


Run Drink Beer

If you're a runner, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K will kick off Saturday at Neptune Park (31st St) then stagger down to the 24th St Park for the Craft Beer Festival Saturday and Sunday.  There's always a lot going on in Virginia Beach - Virginia's Largest City - and this weekend is no exception.
